DE Fastlink Board of Managers and Expansion News

DE Fastlink, LLC has been in operation since the fall of 2020. This spring, the Dixie Electric board of directors appointed a board of managers to set policies for DE Fastlink. Mississippi’s Broadband Enabling Act requires that the high-speed internet business be kept separate, so the appointment of these board members is a step to fulfill this legislation.

The board is made up of three representatives from the Dixie Electric board. Those individuals serve as the board chairman, vice chairman and secretary. The other four board members are appointed and were chosen due to their leadership and expertise in our local communities.

DE Fastlink’s Board of Managers met in mid-May for an orientation session and their first board meeting. They are engaged and look forward to setting a vision for expanding DE Fastlink’s high-speed internet network across the counties we serve.

In addition to the appointment of the board of managers, we are also proud to report that our pilot project areas have been completed, but it is important to note that members in these areas can still sign-up and receive service if they would like to do so. We have moved forward into the next phases of our expansion plans. To view our DE Fastlink map and check your eligibility for service, visit https://defastlink.net/service-map/.

The excitement toward DE Fastlink and its expansion has been outstanding. The process can occasionally have challenges, but we are proud to bring this high-speed network to our local rural communities.
